Dear Parishioners
Holy Communion, also known as the Eucharist, stands as the heart of the Mass, embodying the pinnacle of our liturgical celebration. This sacred sacrament invites the faithful into a profound encounter with the very essence of Christ, allowing us to receive His Body and Blood—a true gift of divine love that nourishes our souls and strengthens our spiritual lives.
At its core, Holy Communion is the act of partaking in the Body and Blood of Christ, a sacramental grace that is essential for sustaining the life of grace within each believer. It is described beautifully as the "soul's spiritual food," a source of strength and vitality for our faith journey. As Jesus Himself proclaims in the Gospel of John, "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him" (Jn 6:56). In this sacred union, we experience not only a deep communion with Christ but also a profound connection with one another as members of His mystical body, the Church.
In receiving Holy Communion, we are not only nourished spiritually but also transformed, empowered to go forth and be Christ's hands and feet in the world. It is a call to embody the very love we have received, sharing it with others in our daily lives
Blessings,
Fr. Andrew
