Altar OT September 2023

A Note from Our Pastor

Posted : Aug-31-2023

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! As the summer sun begins to wane and the air becomes crisper, we find ourselves transitioning from the refresh days of vacation to the vibrant months of activities. It is with immense joy and gratitude that I welcome each one of you back to the parish life.

Over the past months, we have witnessed the remarkable dedication and faithful stewardship of our community. The renovation of our church sanctuary stands as a testament to our commitment to creating a sacred space that reflects the glory of God. Just as Nehemiah worked to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, so have we worked together to restore and enhance the physical home where we gather to worship. A special note of Thanks to our dedicated Building committee, and the carpentry team under the leadership of Marco Escobar.

In the spirit of welcoming, we have opened our doors wide to international students and new families, embracing them with the warmth of Christ's love. Our parish has become a global family, where differences in language and culture are embraced as opportunities for growth and understanding. The team of our English tutors are doing a marvelous job of Christian charity. The knights of Columbus are planning to have a food drive during this Thanksgiving weekend for those in our community needing assistance.

Our faith formation programs like Catechism of the Good Shepherd, Mustard Seed Bible Study program, Youth Ministry, Sacramental preparation team etc. are offering spiritual nourishment and growth for individuals of all ages. Just as a garden requires tender care to bloom, so do our souls require nurturing to deepen our relationship with God. Various other ministries and organizations in our parish are making this community a vibrant place of faith and joy. I am so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to be your servant leader in this wonderful community.

On the weekend of September 30th and October 1st, we will be having our Ministry Harvest. This will be a great opportunity for all to learn more about various ministries and get involved. I encourage everyone to prayerfully consider joining at least one of the ministries in our parish.

With Warm Regards,

Fr. James Cherickal
