On Wednesday, January 24, the Toronto School of Theology (TST) held their Service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This year, the prayer service was hosted by Regis College and was presided by the Most Reverend Francis Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto.

Over 100 people attended the service, which had student representatives participate from each of the seven member schools of the TST.

The prayer service was adapted from the text produced by the World Council of Churches’ Faith and Order Commission and the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.

According to their website, The Toronto School of Theology is a consortium of seven theological member schools and is affiliated with the University of Toronto. Each of TST's member colleges and affiliated member institutions is an independent, degree-granting institution with its own distinct history, denominational connection, community spirit, and theological approach. Because each takes its own institutional mission and values very seriously, we resist the kind of homogenization that can sometimes happen in a unitary department or school. A fundamental principle of TST is the cultivation of a diverse ecumenical environment.

TST's member schools are:

  • Emmanuel College (United Church of Canada)
  • Knox College (The Presbyterian Church in Canada)
  • Regis College (Roman Catholic, Jesuit)
  • St. Augustine's Seminary (Roman Catholic, Diocesan)
  • University of St. Michael's College, Faculty of Theology (Roman Catholic, Basilian)
  • University of Trinity College, Faculty of Divinity (Anglican)
  • Wycliffe College (Anglican, Evangelical)
