Dear parishioners,

In the sacred rhythm of the Mass, we arrive at a moment that transcends time and space—the proclamation of the Sanctus. This profound acclamation, often referred to as the "Holy," serves as a bridge between our earthly worship and the celestial chorus of angels. As we lift our voices in unison, we join with the heavenly hosts in a jubilant declaration of praise, echoing the words of the seraphim from Isaiah 6:3: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts."

In this sacred moment, we are reminded that we are not alone in our worship. The Sanctus invites the entire assembly—each person, each heart—to participate actively in a collective act of reverence and adoration. It emphasizes our unity as the Body of Christ, as we come together to honor the holiness of God, the Creator of all that is, the Redeemer, and the Spirit who sanctifies.

The Sanctus marks a transition into the more solemn aspects of the Eucharistic Prayer, preparing us for the sacred mysteries that lie ahead. It is a moment of profound significance, as we acknowledge the Trinitarian nature of God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—each deserving of our highest praise. The repetition of "Holy" underscores not only the majesty of God but also our response of awe and wonder.

Blessings,

 Fr. Andrew
